If you are travelling November to April
This is the Indian Ocean's window, and it happens to be the UAE's most pleasant season too. Seas are calm, humidity is low, and visibility for diving and snorkelling is at its best.
- Maldives — 4h 15m from DXB. Overwater villas, flat seas, the most reliable sunshine of the year.
- Seychelles — 4h 30m. Granite boulders, empty beaches, and greener and wilder than the Maldives.
- Zanzibar and Tanzania — 5h. Beach paired with a Serengeti green-season safari and newborn wildlife.
- Sri Lanka — 4h 30m. Tea country, wildlife, and south-coast beaches in one trip.
If you are travelling May to June
The best-value window of the year for Europe. The Mediterranean is warm, the light is long, and the crowds have not arrived. Rates in Greece and Italy are meaningfully below July and August.
- Santorini — caldera suites before peak season pricing and cruise traffic
- Amalfi Coast — lemon groves in bloom, coastal roads still driveable
- Provence and the French Riviera — lavender begins late June

Choosing between them
If you want to do nothing at all, choose the Indian Ocean. If you want to move, eat, and see things, choose Europe. If you want the trip to be the story you tell for the next thirty years, choose a safari.
Whatever you choose, keep it to one or two bases. The honeymoons people remember are the ones with unhurried mornings, not the ones with four hotels.
